All Christian parents want to start teaching their kids about Jesus and Christian principles as early as possible. Some of the best tools are Christian-based picture books. We have chosen some of our favorite titles for you to share with your children.
- Just in Case You Ever Wonder (Max Lucado). Max Lucado has been a bestselling author for decades, and his books expertly reach children and adults. In this title, he covers one of the most basic yet important truths of Christianity: children are loved by their parents and loved immeasurably more by the God of the universe. The book talks about the comforting and constant presence of both God and parents. If your kids like this book, you might also try Lucado’s fun and creative Wemmicks series.
- The Pumpkin Patch Parable (Liz Curtis Higgs). Liz Curtis Higgs’ Parable series is popular with small children; she uses objects in nature such as pumpkins, sunflowers, and pine trees to communicate important truths. In this parable, she shows how a farmer turns a pumpkin into a vessel of light and parallels that and the presence of Jesus in the human heart.
- Gigi, God’s Little Princess (Sheila Walsh). Many young girls idolize Cinderella and Snow White. If you have a little girl going through her princess phase and you want to instill Christian teaching, this series is perfect. Four-year-old Gigi loves to play princess, and she learns that she is one in God’s eyes. Walsh offers a four-in-one treasury, a devotional, and other supplemental books.
