Patriot Day, officially known as National Day of Service and Remembrance, is observed every September 11th in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Today we remember those we lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and those who fought bravely to save lives that day. The tragedy of that day will not be forgotten, and we grieve with those who lost loved ones 16 years ago today. As we gather together to honor the men and women who went courageously into the fray to help those in crisis, we continue to pray for comfort for all who have experienced tragedy through this horrific event.
We also continue to pray for the leadership of our country, that they would gain wisdom and humility by seeking the Lord and that He would guide them in a way that aims to bring peace and justice to all of our citizens. We pray for the unity of our country and banding together in the face of trials, expressing gratefulness for the freedom and opportunities we already have and striving to make it even better.
We thank all who have served our country and continue to serve, whether through public service, the military, or in another capacity, for helping shape a better future. We will not forget the tragic events of September 11, and with a somber spirit, we will walk forward, together.
