5 Christian Fiction Books for Teens

Do you know any teens who could use a good book recommendation? There are a lot of books out there for teens, but unfortunately many of them are full of content that is less than commendable. While we’re encouraged to be in the world and not of it, the teen years are an impressionable time.

Chronicles of Narnia
By: C. S. Lewis
About: This timeless series is about four siblings who walk into a wardrobe only to find a magical new land… and so much more. Lewis draws some direct parallels from the Bible in most of the seven books. If your teen enjoys mythology, fantasy, or fairy tales, he or she will love this series that has already sold over 100 million copies.

River of Time
By: Lisa Tawn Bergren
About: This series has five books and is set in which the main character is magically transported to medieval Italy during a time of war between two powers. If you have a teen who is interested in Harry Potter or the Twilight series, he or she would likely love this series, beginning with the book Waterfall.

The Merchant’s Daughter
By: Melanie Dickerson
From the Book Description: An unthinkable danger. An unexpected choice. Annabel, once the daughter of a wealthy merchant, is trapped in indentured servitude to Lord Ranulf, a recluse who is rumored to be both terrifying and beastly. Her circumstances are made even worse by the proximity of Lord Ranulf’s bailiff—a revolting man who has made unwelcome advances on Annabel in the past. Believing that life in a nunnery is the best way to escape the escalation of the bailiff’s vile behavior and to preserve the faith that sustains her, Annabel is surprised to discover a sense of security and joy in her encounters with Lord Ranulf. As Annabel struggles to confront her feelings, she is involved in a situation that could place Ranulf in grave danger. Ranulf’s future, and possibly his heart, may rest in her hands, and Annabel must decide whether to follow the plans she has cherished or the calling God has placed on her heart.

In His Steps
By: Charles Sheldon
About: When challenged by their pastor, a small American town of church-goers decides to spend a specific amount of time fielding every single choice in their lives with one, single question: What would Jesus do? From business dealings to questions of romance and marriage, your teen will love to see how each character chooses to live his or her life by keeping Christ involved in every little choice.

There You’ll Find Me
By: Jenny B Jones
About: A young woman goes to Ireland and finds love, but more importantly peace from God’s love. If your teen is interested in the Twilight series, he or she will love this book.
