As the thick of the semester approaches, with workloads getting heavier and midterms setting in, we encourage you to look to God’s word for strength. His word can speak to you regardless of the stage of life or season you are in.
Here are five verses for you:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28(NKJV)
Whatever burden you are carrying, you can lay down at the feet of Jesus, being confident that His strength is sufficient for you, and He can bring peace to every storm you are facing in your career, academics, or any area of your life.
James 5:16 says:
The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. (NKJV)
The Amplified version of this verse says:
“The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. (AMP)
God hears the prayers of His children. Don’t lose your ability to pray to God; depend on Him like a child. Go to Him in prayer and tell Him what you want, and He will bring it to pass.
The third verse we encourage you with is Proverbs 22:29.
It says:
Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men. (NKJV)
Make every moment count as you pursue your goal. Diligently attend classes, get your assignments done and immerse yourself into the coursework as you sharpen your skills that will bring you valuable opportunities in the future. The Lord will crown all your efforts with success.
Phil 1:6 says:
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; (NKJV)
The Lord who has started this journey will bring it to perfection. He will help you sustain good grades and provide the strength, finances and whatever it is you need Him to provide on your journey through school.
God is saying to you today:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43: 1-3 MSG
Enjoy the rest of the semester!
