Staying Connected To God

Staying Connected To God

Being alone can weigh on us. We weren’t meant to live life by ourselves. But it can also give us a new opportunity to reconnect with God. Here are a few tips to help you grow your spiritual life when isolated.

Get in the Word
One of the best ways to hear from God is to read his Word! Scripture is full of encouragement, insight, and guidance for navigating life. It also has tons of stories that you can share with your family that offer just as much drama, romance, or comedy as anything Hollywood is putting out!

Get Creative With Spiritual Community
In today’s technology driven world, there are many different options to connect with others on a spiritual level. We aren’t bound by just face-to-face interactions anymore. You can always pick up the phone and make a call to a friend or family member. There are also applications like Skype, Zoom, and FaceTime that allow you to have conversations over video chatting with one or more persons. You can even join a Facebook group who’s focus is spiritual growth and share messages back and forth.

Get Right With God
Use this time to re-examine your life. Have you fallen behind in following God? Have you let the world influence you a little more than you should? Now is the time to recommit to Jesus. Use this time alone with his Spirit to refocus your attention on the one who saves.

Get Ready For Revival
Revival comes when we PRAY! With much more free time, let’s pray for God to REVIVE our nation and our lives. Take time to pray for cities and states, government officials, friends and family, your church, and wherever else in your life you desire to see a move of God. We may not always see it, but God always is working. Pray that He reveals that work to you!

Get Creative With Generosity
With many stores temporarily closing, and churches moving services to online, there could be a lack in giving in our world. But now is a time to step up our generosity. Most churches and non-profits offer online giving options. Many stores and restaurants have started to as well. And why not buy some groceries for a neighbor in need? Let’s take this time to make generosity a habit.
