Best Romance Books for Christian Women and Girls

Most women enjoy a good romance novel now and then, but some of the content in secular novels may put off Christians. If you’re a Christian woman searching for clean romance, or if a teen girl in your life is ready to begin reading more adult literature, check out these choices that rely on clean, faith-based plotlines, suitable for adults and teens:

  • Deep Haven Series (Susan May Warren). This is a set of six contemporary Christian romances set in a fictional Minnesota village. It begins with Happily Ever After, which concerns bookstore owner Mona Reynolds and her mysterious handyman, Joe Michaels. Characters deal with issues such as PTSD, Down Syndrome, and gang activity, all from a Christian perspective. Clean suspense is a part of most of the books.
  • The Maid of Fairbourne Hall (Julie Klassen). Many readers consider Julie Klassen the gold standard in Christian Regency romance. This offering is a sort of reverse Cinderella story, wherein Margaret Macy disguises herself as a servant to avoid an arranged marriage to a cruel man. During the story, she learns important lessons about compassion, humility, and the value of all people.
  • Weddings by Bella Series (Janice Thompson). Bella Rossi and her family are Italian-American New Jersey natives who now live in Texas. The meshing of the two cultures is delightful and funny, especially combined with Bella’s efforts to run her parents’ wedding facility and pull off some extravagant themed weddings for starry-eyed brides.
  • Fairy Tale Romance Collection (Melanie Dickerson). In this series most suited for teens and young adults, Melanie Dickerson turns well-loved fairytales such as Cinderella and Snow White into engaging historical romances. They’re usually set in Medieval Germany in a kingdom known as Hagenheim. The entire collection is available only through Kindle.
